sm conservancies in the Maasai Mara are run solely by tourist operators, Mara Naboisho Conservnacy ("Naboisho") has developed a unique conservancy model in which equal representation of the local Maasai landowners is secured. It empowers the Maasai through employment opportunities and various charitable projects, and enables them to continue their traditional way of life as herders.

Naboisho’s unique setup respectful of the Maasai Mara ecosystem has shown very positive effects on wildlife populations, which have significantly increased since the conservancy’s formation in 2010.
