Rocket Learning Transforming the world’s largest daycare network into a powerhouse of learning and play

India is home to 160 million children under age six, surrounded by loving caregivers who want the best for them but lack the knowledge and resources to support early learning and development. Rocket Learning enables access to quality Early Childhood Development for children from birth to age six by training India's frontline daycare workers, engaging parents through WhatsApp-based communities, and partnering with governments to strengthen public early learning systems. Using science-backed content, AI-enabled technology, and human-centred design, Rocket Learning now reaches one in every four government daycare centres nationally, supporting 5.2 million children across 12 states

Our commitment

We partner with Rocket Learning as part of LGT Venture Philanthropy's commitment to quality Early Childhood Development in India, and as an anchor implementing partner within SIRA, our integrated Nurturing Care collective. We support Rocket Learning across the following areas:

Business expertise

  • Exploring innovation and expansion of Rocket Learning’s model across new states, age groups, and components of nurturing care for children.
  • Providing thought leadership and an external perspective on expansion, systems change, and communications.

Partnership

  • Connecting Rocket Learning with funders and experts, and leveraging synergies with our portfolio organisations across India and Africa.

Organisational development

  • Strengthening organisational systems, people infrastructure, and communications capabilities to support Rocket Learning's growth
  • Providing skilled talent through the LGT VP Impact Fellowship Programme for strategic roles

  • Trained over 400,000 government-run Anganwadi daycare centres, 1 in every 4 nationally
  • Active in 200 districts over 12 Indian states.
  • Reached 5 million children.

Early childhood development is one of the most critical yet under-recognised human capital investments of our time. If we are to shift outcomes at scale, we must invest in research, systems change, and field-building - not just service delivery. Our collaboration with LGT Venture Philanthropy reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the ECD ecosystem in India and the world, and advancing thoughtful, evidence-led leadership across the sector.
