LGT Venture Philanthropy is delighted to congratulate Educate Girls on becoming the first Indian organisation to receive the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award, one of Asia’s highest honours for social impact and leadership.
Founded by Safeena Husain in 2007, Educate Girls has worked to break barriers to girls' education and ensure that millions of girls across India gain access to quality learning opportunities. Since 2011, LGT VP has partnered with the organisation on its journey - from piloting community-led learning models to scaling a community-driven approach that has transformed education access in underserved regions.
The award ceremony highlighted the organisation's leadership, integrity and far-reaching impact. As Safeena shared in our latest Annual Review, “Our partnership with LGT Venture Philanthropy has been the fuel behind our strategic approach, growth, and scale, leading to the impact it has today.”
